The title track 'Melody Calling' was penned by frontman Justin Young during Christmas 2012. 

He told NME: "I'd built loads of vocal stuff around the main chorus vocal, and then ended up muting the main part so all that's left is the harmonies – that's why they're all falsetto. It moves in a different way. It's not one you bang your head to; maybe you sway a bit more."

The song's music video finds bassist Arni Arnason plucking up the courage to call a woman on the phone. It was shot on East London's Regents Canal and in the London Fields outdoor swimming pool.

After many years on the receiving end of so much hatred from the snootier end of the indie music audience, it seems The Vaccines have resigned from being the straight-up, catchy pop band who gave us What Did You Expect From The Vaccines? and Come Of Age. 

That said, their past efforts have certainly taken them places – the Melody Calling EP comes off the back of playing with The Rolling Stones in London's Hyde Park.
