News Story Summary:

Nursing & midwifery positions on the Mid North Coast are proving a key battleground as candidates fight for the seat of Port Macquarie.

Say hello to Keith McMullen, Labor Candidate for Port Macquarie

Keith was born in Port Macquarie and his family have lived in the area for generations. Keith worked as a painter and decorator for 25 years, and has also worked as a high school teacher in Queensland and Hong Kong.

After 12 years of the Liberal and National Government taking our community for granted, Keith will be a strong local voice fighting for the things that matter most to our community.

If elected Keith will be part of a Minns Labor Government advocating for the crucial local services and recognition we deserve.

"I stand in solidarity with healthcare workers" said Keith.

Nurses across NSW are striking again over hospital staffing levels, pay and working conditions.

Perrottet's decision to ignore health advice and “let COVID rip,” has pushed NSW’s health system to its breaking point and has exacerbsated existing pressures on healthcare workers.

Show your support for our nurses, midwives and all healthcare workers by signing our message of solidarity.

NSW health system is in crisis:

People in NSW are waiting longer for ambulances – and when they finally get to the hospital, they’re waiting longer to get treated.

"On average, 30% of emergency department patients are not being treated on time, and at some hospitals it's over 50%."

Lives are at risk because of chronic underinvestment in our hospital and health system under this Liberal-National Government.
