News Story Summary:
Mrs Williams said she is excited about the four weeks of campaigning remaining before the March 25th State election and is buoyed by the incredible support she has received from communities across the Port Macquarie electorate.
“While the past two months has been challenging both personally and professionally, I know in my heart this is the time for me to step up again and continue to serve the people of the electorate.
“After almost 12 years in Parliament I continue to be energised by our wonderful community and am committed to serving their needs every single day,” Mrs Williams said.
“There’s been many proud moments over this time including the opening of the Lake Cathie Public School, the new Camden Haven Health One, Stingray Creek Bridge and the significant upgrades currently underway at Hastings Secondary College.
“However, I know there is more work to do and that’s why I’m committed to working hard to deliver further significant upgrades to the Port Macquarie Base Hospital, improvements to the Oxley Highway between Wrights Road and Lake Road as well as the completion of the new Police Station and PCYC in Port Macquarie.
“I’m the only candidate that has the experience to know how to get the best outcomes for the community and as a part of a focussed team led by Dominic Perrottet we have a long-term plan for NSW and the Port Macquarie electorate,” Mrs Williams said.
“If elected, I can guarantee to the community that I will continue fighting for local small businesses and families to ensure that the Government provides the necessary support for those struggling with the current economic challenges and the impact of natural disasters that this region has endured.
Mrs Williams has served three terms in the NSW Parliament and has been appointed to many roles including Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy, Parliamentary Secretary for Rural and Regional Health, Minister for Early Childhood Education and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs.
She is currently the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and the Chair of the Committee on the ICAC.
