After almost 40 years, The Cult's 'She Sells Sanctuary' is still a great, classic, straight-ahead, hard-driving rock anthem.  This is exactly what Rock'n'Roll was always meant to be ... Great guitar, thumpin' base, smashing drums and perfect vocals from a great frontman !!!  Life is Good!

'She Sells Sanctuary' is the precursor of 'Dark Wave' - Hard & heavy !! The song was recorded and released as a stand-alone single but it was included on the band's album, 'Love'.

Though it spent months in the UK charts and was one of the best selling tracks of the year, it never actually reached the top ten.

I've been remodeling my daughter's bathroom and have had these guys cranked the entire time, so much so my neighbor informed me my kids were playing the music really loud while I was at work. Little did he know it was me, however I informed him I'd get to the bottom of of the matter - BUT - This band cannot physically be played at a normal sound level - So - sorry NEIGHBOR!

One day many years ago in my teens, I came home from school and turned on MTV like always, just in time to see the world premier of this video.  When it ended I IMMEDIATELY hopped on my 10 speed bike and rode the 4 miles to Tower Records to buy this record.  I had to have it!  No other song ever made me do anything like that.

The song, the mix, the video, the mood, was as good as the best of the eighties by anyone. Nothing coming out here in 2024 and for years now is even close to as delicious as during the 80' and 90's. Back then bands meant business, and business was good. Amen.
