Video News Story:
Design Thinking was woven throughout the five workshop days, which included an introduction to civics with the Whitlam Institute, ethical interviewing techniques, photography for storytelling, narrative development and story editing for exhibitions.
A second theme that evolved from the workshops was the idea of being a ‘changemaker’.
This became central to the work that the participants produced, which was shown at Port Macquarie’s ArtWalk on 18 July, 2019. This projection is now available to view below.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the participants and workshop facilitators who made the first Picture Justice Australia such an incredible five days.
The Picture Justice Australia program is an intensive workshop program for young people.
In 2019, 10 participants explored the themes of 'community, citizenry and processes of democracy' through workshops that included Design Thinking, Ethical Interviewing, Civics, Narrative Development, Photography and Story Editing.
This video showcases some of their work.
