Following the Federal Government’s announcement this morning that all non-essential indoor gatherings be limited to 100 persons or less, Council will take preventative measures to minimise the risk to all meeting attendees, in relation to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
Acting General Manager Jeffery Sharp said that it is important that the business of Council continue during this difficult time.
“Council’s Monthly Ordinary Meetings are the decision-making forum for issues that impact our community, and where policies and key strategic decisions are considered by Councillor’s,” said Mr Sharp.
“Given the global situation with COVID-19, we are taking measured precautions to ensure we keep our staff and our community safe, and are closely following the advice provided by the Federal and State health authorities.”
To minimise the risk, seating at the Wauchope meeting will be arranged within social distancing guidelines, meaning seating will be limited, and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To protect our community and as per the advice from the Australian Government Department of Health please seriously consider not attending the meeting if:
* You have any cold or flu symptoms, no matter how minor;
* You have travelled overseas within the last 14 days, as you are required to self-isolate;
* You have been in contact with a person who is known to have tested positive to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
"The Council meeting will be recorded, and we encourage the community to access this recording on Council’s website, rather than attending the meeting in person,” Mr Sharp added.
“This recording will be available as soon as practical following the meeting, as will the minutes from the meeting.”
