St Columba Anglican School (SCAS) principal Terry Muldoon issued a statement to staff and families on March 19 on Facebook confirming that a member of the school community had tested positive to the virus.
"On the afternoon of March 19, St Columba Anglican School was informed by NSW Health that one member of the St Columba Anglican School community has tested positive to COVID-19 (Corona Virus)".
"In the interest of student and staff safety, the School will be closed on Friday 20 March. All families should have received an email with this information".
"We will keep our parents and community informed with updates as to when the campus will re-open. The School is in communication with NSW Health to advise on how we proceed moving forward. All concerns should be directed to info @ scas.nsw.edu.au".
"We appreciate your understanding during this time".
UPDATE: Tomorrow (Friday morning), St Columba will meet with NSW Health officials to set up protocols for staff and students who are at risk of COVID-19 infection. At this time we have been told there are no general requirements to self isolate.
Those potentially affected will be contacted by NSW Health Authorities as required and given further information in regards to the need to self isolate.

National Corona Virus Helpline 1800 020 080 is open 24/7 if you have questions before more information is available from SCAS. Lots of valid questions here, lets stay calm and support one another with care and kindness...
