Be it bricks and mortar or online, Manning Regional Art Gallery is keeping itself busy.
It’s welcoming back visitors to the Taree building, while also developing an international reputation.
The building began its life as the headmaster’s cottage for Taree High school and continues to foster teaching and learning, offering workshops and professional development opportunities to emerging and established artists, engaging young people as meaningful contributors and providing interactive programs for kids.
It’s a place for people to come together and be inspired by what they see, to meet, engage with, be challenged, get motivated.
Renovated in 2007, the building now comprises a generous exhibition area, with adjoining studio workshop and outdoor art space, and is available for venue hire.
The gallery also has its own shop, which showcases jewellery, textiles and homewares crafted by local, Australian and selected international artists.
The gallery has a collection of 330 works and presents 20 new exhibitions a year, including group and solo exhibitions of emerging artists, as well as high profile touring shows.
