Bananarama 'I Heard a Rumour'
This is the 1987 official remix video for the Horoscope Mix of 'I Heard a Rumour'. This video was produced for club play in the US by Rockamerica.

"I Heard a Rumour" peaked at number 14 in the UK, and was one of their biggest singles in the United States, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

It was also a hit in nightclubs, reaching number three on the Billboard Dance Club Songs.[3]

Songwriter and music producer Pete Waterman names "I Heard a Rumour" as one of his favourite songs.[citation needed]

The chords, general structure and parts of the melody (mainly the bridge leading into the chorus) are the same as those of Michael Fortunati's 1986 hit "Give Me Up".

At 71, I miss all these great songs. Now nothing to whistle to, nonsense lyrics with overbearing music, more of a recital of empty words. No imagination. Copy each other's crappie cacophony of notes.

Kenneth Davis

Another stunning track from PWL, of course by Bananarama. Anyone more in 2020?

They re just superb. Great music, production, dancing, classy. Nothing about the garbage we have today. They will always be remembered.

I used to work with members of the band the Alarm before they became famous. They were in a night club and had Bananerama a guests,  Karen and I went to the bar at the same time. She bought me a pint. As well as being pretty as hell, a lovely woman.
