The video about the recent rainfall contains testimony to what's happening to our climate as a result of human-induced global heating. A mid-age woman is interviewed (Port or Taree, not sure). She says, "In all my 48 years I've been here, I think this is the worst, continuous, rain we've had". What she is describing is the impact of climate change. We know that burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas), and destroying forests, releases large amounts of pollution into the atmosphere. This is trapping more heat from the sun. A warmer atmosphere holds more water (Physics 101). No wonder that when it rains, records are increasingly broken. This is with just over 1 degree of global warming. Australian Coalition government policies have an effective target of 4 degrees of global warming, so the worst by far, is yet to come. An answer? Vote in a government that actually understands the problem and cares about our future security as people and families living on this planet, our only home.
