Port Macquarie : As Lockdown bites - What's open & closed?
The Port Macquarie LGA is into its third day back in lockdown and businesses have spent the time adjusting to the changes as PMHC advises locals as to what's open & what's closed around town.

The following information was updated 30-09-21.

Here's what's currently CLOSED throughout the Port Macquarie Hastings region:

Customer Service Centres - PMHC customer service centres are closed for face-to-face visits, but our team is available by emailing council(at)pmhc.nsw.gov.au, or by calling PMHC on 6581 8111.

Libraries - Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope libraries are closed for face-to-face visits, but you can still browse and borrow through Click & Collect, or by calling the libraries. 

Community Halls - All Community Halls are closed.

Indoor sports stadiums - All indoor sports facilities are currently closed.

Here's what's currently OPEN throughout the Port Macquarie Hastings region;

PMHC Call Centre - Available via:, Phone: 6581 8111 & Email: council(at)pmhc.nsw.gov.au

Waste Management Facilities - Cairncross, Comboyne, Kew, Port Macquarie and Wauchope are open.

Swimming Pools - All outdoor public swimming pools are open to sporting clubs and associations for group training and competitions, but are not open for individual physical activity. Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

 Outdoor Sports Fields - All outdoor sporting facilities are closed to sporting clubs and associations for group training and competitions, but are open for individual physical activity. Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Port Macquarie Airport - The airport terminal is open. Check with your airline regarding the latest services available.

Glasshouse - Visitor Information Centre, Box Office, Customer Service desk, Glasshouse Shop and Regional Gallery are all open (restrictions in place) - Current operating hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm, and weekends 9:00am -2:00pm. 

Cemeteries - Open for burials. The number of people who may attend a funeral or memorial service or a gathering following a funeral or memorial service, is subject to the one person per 4 square metres rule with a limit of 100 people.

Outdoor playgrounds - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Outdoor exercise equipment - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits of up to 100 people, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Port Macquarie Animal Shelter - The animal shelter will operate by appointment. Check our Shelter's web page for details.

Ferries - Pedestrians are to adhere to current NSW gathering limits of up to 20 people, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Beaches - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits of up to 100 people, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Public amenities - Adhere to current gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene. Cleaning levels have been increased, and we’re endeavouring to continue to provide toilet paper and soap where possible, despite the setbacks we’ve faced with recent increases in theft and vandalism in these facilities.

Parks and reserves - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene. Commercial operators must have appropriate COVID-19 Safety Plans in place and approval from Council.

Skate parks - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

BBQ and picnic areas - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.

Boat ramps - Adhere to current NSW outdoor gathering limits, maintain physical distance and practise good hygiene.
