Port Macquarie : ‘Ride the Wave’ festival raises thousands
Port’s premier Surf, Skate & Music Festival ‘Ride the Wave’ wraps up after two big days. For the second year running, the festival has raised thousands of dollars to support locals doing it tough.

News Story Summary:

The Ride the Wave Festival is the annual fundraising event that showcases our region to the wider community whilst advocating for the disadvantaged and marginalised. In this way, all money raised goes back to the local community.

The festival features an open division surf competition, a skateboarding and scooter competition, market stalls, food vendors, family fun zone and an ALL AGES live music festival

Ride The Soundwave:

The inaugural Ride the Wave Festival set out in June 2021 to establish itself as a premier annual festival at Town Beach Port Macquarie.

With approximately 2000 attending the festival across three days, the inaugural festival was successful in raising funds to complete the Make a Difference PMQ food van and contributed towards an accompanying food trailer.

2022 Bigger & Better:

The 2022 festival included competitions for short and long board surfing, scooter and skateboarding. In addition, a Battle of the Bands style competition ‘Live Set’ for up and coming solo acoustic artists also took place.

Whilst the music festival was a ticketed event, ther was free access to market stalls, food vendors and family activities where running over the festival weekend.
