Ride the Sound Wave is a live boutique music event staged on Town Beach Port Macquarie as part of the Ride the Wave Festival on Saturday 19th June from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Ride the Sound Wave is a live music event staged on Town Beach Port Macquarie as part of the Ride the Wave Festival.

This boutique surf, skate, music and food festival is hosted by local charity Make a Difference PMQ.

Indie punk rock band BEDDY RAYS will headline with Vanilla Gorilla and Scuffs.

These bands are sure to provide a good time festival vibe supported by Palomino and Mikk. Ride the Sound Wave will kick off at 10:00am with ocean views and wind up at 4:30pm as dusk approaches at Town Beach. 

This is NOW AN ALL AGES MUSIC EVENT! 

Tickets are FREE & available at the gates. Gates open at 9:30am with the official opening at 10:00am.

SETS @ SETTS

Kick off an epic weekend of fun with the ultimate social event at the Pavilion at Settler’s Inn. Hosted by Make a Difference, come and join us for an evening of delicious food, chilled setts by Keanu Jai and Mat Brooker, and a fun vibe thanks to emcee Tim Maddren.

All proceeds go to Make a Difference PMQ – ‘Locals supporting Locals’.

Cost: $50 Adults includes entree, main meal, drink on arrival and entertainment. $10 Children includes a meal and drink.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS

‘Live Set’ is the RTW Online Battle of the Bands competition for amateur bands, solo acoustic artists and DJs.

Voting is now LIVE on the Make a Difference PMQ facebook page.

On that page Click on the green button and make a comment in the post listing the best band by number (details below). For example, if you think that Swell House is the best band place a comment for Band 1.

The winning bands will be given the opportunity to perform a live 30 minute set at ‘Ride the Sound Wave’ at Town beach on Saturday 19th June between 10:00am – 11:00am. They will also receive a prize pack to the value of $500.00 from Coastal Music.

MARKET STALLS

A wide range of market stalls and food vendors will be in place from 8am to 2:00pm at Town Beach as part of the Ride the Wave festival. Live music by Leigh I’Anson from 8am to 10am.

SKATE COMP & CLINIC

Port Macquarie Skate Park will play host to a new and exciting competition for the Region.  

DATE: Saturday, 19th June 2021 

VENUE: Port Macquarie Skatepark 

TIME: 10-4pm – 10-11am Clinic, 11am-2pm Competition, 2pm-3pm Bowl action with a 15 minute exhibition by Albie Watson (Scooter), 3-4pm Presentation

ENTRY FEE: Gold Coin donation (all proceeds go to M.A.D Charity)

SURF COMPETITION

In partnership with Surfing NSW, Port Macquarie Surf Board Riders Club, MNC Girls Surf Riders Inc and Port Macquarie Surf School, the main event at Ride the Wave Festival is the surfing competition. 

Heats will be held on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th June, with finals to be held on Sunday 20th June, 2021. 

Surfers will compete in the Under 12s, 14s, 16s and Open Men’s and Women’s Divisions. 

FILM & PHOTO COMPETITION

The RTW Surf & Skate film and photo competition is open to amateur photographers and videographers.

We are looking for amazing surf and/or skate photos and video shot within our local mid north coast area OR at Ride the Wave Festival itself.

Step 1. Register at  madpmq.com.au/ride-the-wave : Fees: $20.00 (Surf), $20.00 (Skate).

Winners for each category will be announced on our website and social media by Saturday 3rd July.

In addition, winners will have their work presented at Ride the Wave 2022.

Step 3. Prizes : Outright winners for each category will have their work presented at the Ride the Wave launch and ‘pre festival’ dinner in 2022. In addition major prize packs to the value of $500.00 will be awarded.
