Taree : Lockdown lifted for MidCoast LGA 11-10-21
Taree and Forster-Tuncurry emerged from lockdown today but there’s been mixed reactions to the new health rules - For some businesses, the day was quieter than expected.

News Story Summary:

For some businesses, the day was quieter than expected – others were left to bear the brunt of anger at the State Government.

Myall Lakes MP, Mr Bromhead, reported on Friday that it has been decided Mid Coast LGA will emerge from lockdown at midnight 10-10-21.

He said Mid Coast LGA would continue to operate under specified conditions outlined by the NSW Government yesterday, to keep regional communities safe.

"I am delighted that we have achieved the outcome I have been lobbying for," he said.

"It goes to show not to give up.

"Thank you to the deputy premier and NSW Health for listening to our community.

"This should provide much needed relief to businesses and individuals who have undoubtedly struggled during the lockdown and children who will go back to school and catch up with their friends.

"I continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible - the State-wide 'roadmap' eases more restrictions for those who are fully vaccinated."
