INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC DEBATES IN JANUARY.

Hello Patrick,

I am writing to invite you to join me for series of public debates in Cowper at the start of 2019.

With you as the candidate for the Morrison National Party Government and me as the representative in Cowper of the alternative Labor Government, I believe it is essential for the public to have the opportunity to hear from both options for government.

I am proposing that we hold four 90-minute debates - one each in Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Valla and Coffs Harbour over the two weeks commencing 14 January 2019 and before the Australia Day long weekend.

These two weeks will enable the public to hear from both of us well before a federal election in March or May and before attention shifts to the 23 March 2019 state election.

The debates would be jointly hosted, and costs and organisation shared equally. Standard rules of political candidates’ debates would apply. I would suggest 10 minutes of opening remarks from both and then questions from the floor, answered by us both for an agreed period.

While the debates would be free-flowing, I suggest they focus on employment, environment, equality and integrity, critical issues on the minds of people in Port, Coffs, Kempsey and on the Mid-North Coast.
