boat-makers X shore champions emission-free sea travel with their series of all-electric models. the swedish company recently unveiled its latest creation: the X shore eelex 8000 — a 6.5 meter model.

The eelex 8000 can travel up 100 nautical miles on a single charge and has a top speed of 40 knots.

A full charge takes as little as 8 hours, depending on the power source, so all in all, it’s a good and green alternative for leisure boating.

Two battery choices are available, including 90 kwh and 120 kwh. charge is via dual (230 v/5 amp) or triple (400 v/30 amp) connections.

Increasing the energy efficiency is the hull of the craft, which X shore says is specially designed to reduce energy use by approximately 35%.

Lightweight distinctive ridges decrease friction by allowing for air insertion between the craft and the water.

There is also a propulsion system that features a single shaft construction to propels the boat with greater efficiency — more details regarding this feature are ‘coming soon’, according to X shore.

The distinct silhouette is characterized by the eelex 8000’s high bow and simple hardtop. the minimalist design continues on board where flexible configuration makes it easy to customize the eelex 8000.

The deck is made up of a system of struts and rails so that passengers can quickly add or remove seats depending on the load type.

The loading capacity is 2500kg, giving the option to transport many passengers or haul heavy equipment.

In addition to the eelex, which has an open top and holds up to 12 people, X shore has launched a second model.

The eeltrek 8000 will feature a closed roof and cabin with sleeping capacity making it more voyage friendly in a sense.

Dropping its distance potential by 10 nautical miles and its speed by 5 knots makes it maybe less so.
