Mark and Danena Stone became the new owners of Billabong Zoo in 2003.

With 40 years’ experience in the zoo industry Mark and Danena continually put their life and soul into the wellbeing and care of their animals.

They are commitment to growing the zoo’s activities and enjoyment for all of their visitors.

Family run and operated, this Billabong Zoo is filled with a diverse range of Australian and exotic animals and birds that are known as their Ambassadors.

The friendly owners and staff are passionate about all of their animals and the work they do for conservation through education.

Billabong Zoo has been voted the region’s Top Attraction on a number of years as well as receiving other Awards for service and value.

Today the Zoo exhibits over 80 species and cares for over 220 animals.  It is open every day of the year (except Christmas Day) from 9am to 5pm. And throughout the year holds functions and events after 5pm.

Education is fundamental to the Zoo’s ethos. Every day there are 16 Zoo Talks with keeper presentations and a Reptile Show at the weekend and during school holidays.
