World's smallest caravan can be towed by a mobility scooter
The QTvan is the world’s smallest towable caravan designed by Yannick Read and the UK’s environmental transport association (ETA) & measuring only 2.39m in length and 1.53m in height.

News Story Summary:

This tiny trailer beats the odds in all senses.

Jokingly, the name QTvan stands for three famous pastimes of british people: queuing, tea and caravaning.

While that name screams ‘adorable’, what was the purpose behind such an odd invention?

Here’s how that curious project came to life and was ultimately coined the world’s smallest caravan by the Guinness book of world records back in 2014.

A Micro-Space Packed Comfortably With The Basics

2011 marked the iconic wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton – a.k.a the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge.

Claiming a good spot to witness the ceremony was obviously tricky, especially for older folks who didn’t want to camp out and sleep on the pavement floor.

That’s when ETA, with designer Yannick Read, came up with the idea of modeling a tiny trailer that can be moved around with a mobility scooter or a bike.

It would also be packed with basic amenities to comfortably queue up overnight and eventually get the best view of the newlyweds tying the knot.

While tiny in size, the QTvan is surprisingly comfortable.

Priced at £5,500, it includes a 19″ television, a minibar, a full-size bed to fit one person, some bookshelves, and an alarm clock.

Last but not least, of course, you can find a kettle to boil some tea while watching the screen.

And that’s not all; owners could go for additional features and create a full-on ‘Home’ experience.

These features include solar roof panels, an air horn and extra-wide wing mirror for the mobility scooter, a satellite dish, a gaming console, a central heating, and an external luggage rack.

a 240v hookup or battery fueled the trailer with power, giving it a range of about 48 km on a single charge.

That said, riders were allowed to reach a maximum speed of 5 mph when driving it around a supermarket, a sidewalk or anywhere else where mobility scooters were allowed.

Per day, a maximum distance of 16 km was also advised.

All in all, the QTvan is a cute and comfortable spot to camp in, without the adrenaline-pumping quality to it.
