Port Macquarie has been recognised by best-selling travel magazine 'Australian traveller' as a top 100 tourist destination in Australia.

Port's peak tourism body, the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association, says the recognition is a 'Major coup'.

Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association (GPMTA) represents over 200 tourism related businesses and is the local peak industry tourism organisation.

GPMTA members have all worked in the local tourism industry for many years, and together provide the knowledge and experience required to provide professional support services to the Port Macquarie tourism industry.

Australia's best-selling travel magazine & website - australiantraveller.com -  has Mid-North Coast, NSW holidays at #99 on their list of top 100 Australian holidays.

“You are a stranger only once,” says the Visit NSW website about the beachside town of Seal Rocks on NSW’s Mid-North Coast. And how true that is.

In fact, many of the small towns on our stretch of coast – Forster, South West Rocks, Port Macquarie, Blueys Beach, Myalls Lake – have the same friendly, relaxed, laid-back holiday vibe.

It’s the stuff nostalgic family beach holidays are made of – swimming, barbecues, bushwalking, fishing, surfing and devouring salty fish n’ chips as the sun goes down.
